Marcha del Orgullo

Being that a lot of my personal projects revolve around LGBTQ issues, I was super thrilled to photograph Lima’s 12th annual pride parade–a welcome change of pace from the religious holidays I am used to photographing (not to say that I don’t also enjoy them!) and a welcome burst of color against the grey skies that have overtaken the city as of late.  The streets of downtown Lima transformed into a crazy party as hundreds of people gathered to protest the violence against the LGBT community, to bring awareness to health and sexuality issues and to be proud, to be seen and to be heard–that is amongst clouds of glitter and confetti!
